Beautiful 1900s York & Sons snare drum in original condition. These earlier single tension snare drums are increasingly more difficult to find in such great condition. The drum features a (roughly) 13.25" diameter x 4.5" depth shell outfitted with 12 claws and rods, original strainer system along with silk wire-wound snares. The drum is equipped with calf heads on both the batter and resonant sides that date somewhere around the 1950s. Included with the snare is the original case, featuring the same diamond style badge and matching the snare's interior paper tag, advertising for the matching case. A common asked question, modern heads. Modern heads have no been tested on this drum, however it is likely that the oversized Remo 'Classic Fit' line may fit this drum if desired. However again, this fit hasn't been tested. Overall this is a beautiful early century snare drum perfect for the collector or set up and ready to play for the performer.
