1940s Slingerland Radio King snare drum in the "Super Krupa" model featuring the clam-style strainer. The drum is in nice condition with no modifications to the shell and original beautiful Black Diamond Pearl wrap. The drum is equipped with 16 small style beavertail lugs, none of which are showing cracks. The drum has the original "Radio King" stamped hoops along with original Slingerland calf heads installed on the batter and resonant sides. Like many of these drums, the lever on the strainer had broken and was replaced with a machined part. The aluminum part is durable and looks nice, however doesn't allow the strainer to properly disengage very easily. It requires tension to be backed off from the snares and assistance in releasing from the strainer. The snares are also original to the drum!
