1920s Leedy 'Floating Head' Model Snare Drum

Size : 6 x 14

Finish : Colonial Gold

1926-27 Leedy 'Floating Head' model snare drum in the original Full Dressed option, "Colonial Gold".

As stated in the 1927 Leedy catalog, the Colonial Gold finish was originally created for Geo. W. Marsh, Paul Whiteman Orchestra drummer, and was a very durable Duco finish that was more resistant to cracking or chipping. From the 1927 Leedy catalog : "Contrasting shades of gold always create a beautiful effect - so, here we have blended a satin and bright Nobby Gold finish that attracts and holds the eye like magic.”

This particular drum features a 6x14 model brass shell outfitted in all Nobby Gold hardware including Speed-Way strainer, triple flanged hoops, 4-point contact lugs and slotted rods. The drum is equipped with original calf heads and wire-wound snare strands.
