Up for grabs is a beautiful 1920s Ludwig Professional model snare drum in the elusive Marble Pearl finish. This drum is in outstanding condition featuring all original hardware including 10 tube lugs, all nickel over brass snare clips (free of cracks), single flanged nickel plated hoops and professional (Timepiece) style strainer. The drum is equipped with Snappy snares (missing one strand) and hide heads on both the batter and resonant sides. The batter side head is goat hide sporting the era correct Ludwig hard white stamp while the resonant side head is calf, also featuring the era correct Ludwig Transparent stamp. These professional model snare drums utilize a solid shell that common experienced slight shrinking along with the reinforcement rings which would result in separation between the ring and shell. This particular drum did have a few areas of this separation occurring, however these areas were treated by injecting glue and capping off the gaps with wood filler. The filler was smoothed over the bearing edge by hand without using any sort of sand paper in efforts to maintain the original integrity of the shell and bearing edge. Overall this is an outstanding rare collector condition drum!
