1920s Ludwig 'Super Ludwig' model snare drum in the original Black Diamond Pearl wrap. The drum features the 'Super' snare strainer system extending the snares completely over the bearing edges of the drum. This allow for a extremely sensitive and focused snare response when playing. The drum is in great condition with original nickel plated hardware including, 10 tube lugs, nickel hoops (including the engraved 'Super Ludwig' resonant hoop), all of the appropriate strainer parts (including the gates) and the batter side muffler. All of the tension rods are also original and the clips have all been changed out to nickel plate steel clips - so there are no concerns with the fragile brass clips cracking under tension. Along with the Puresound extended snares, this drum is ready for any snare stand! Looking at the interior, the bearing edges remain factory profiled, however may have been slightly smoothed out. They have not been cut - but possibly lightly sanded - they are extremely smooth. The interior lug hardware has been changed out to modern screws and washers (please see photos). All in all, this drum is absolutely gorgeous and sounds incredible.
