1926-33 'Super Ludwig' Ludwigold Snare Drum

Here is a beautiful, well seasoned, 1926-33 Ludwig 'Super Ludwig' Model snare drum in the elusive Ludwigold flake finish. The drum is equipped with all original gold plated hardware, including 10 tube lugs, all correct tension rods and clips, super-ludwig snare throw assembly and extended box snare strand. The hardware all shows fair share of aging, complimenting the aged and faded Ludwigold finish around the shell. Calf heads are present on both the resonant and batter sides, the batter side head sports a fresh ink stamp similar to that of the 20s/30s Ludwig calf head logo.

The Ludwigold or "Gold Flake Pearl" was introduced in 1926 and eventually replaced the Stipple Gold finish that was prone to flaking and chipping. This Ludwigold finish was last published in the 1933 catalog.
