1926 C.G. Conn Paragon 'Tuxedo' Snare Drum

Size : 5 x 14

Finish : Black Nickel 'Floral Engraving'

Here is a very rare example of an early (Leedy) production, C.G. Conn Company 'Paragon' (distributed) all-metal model snare drum. This was an area where the C.G. Conn Company owned the rights to market and distribute Leedy manufactured instruments under their own brand. (Hence the batter side hoop engraving and no Leedy markings) This drum features the highly decorative "Tuxedo" finish as outlined in the 1926 catalogue; "The shell is finished in black nickel, handsomely engraved, and the hoops, rods and snare strainer are plated with "nobby gold"..". The overall design and build of the drum is completely identical to the Leedy Black Elite model drums, as it was essentially the same drum. This particular example is in outstanding condition with all original parts. The drum has been outfitted with newly tucked hide heads and retains its original silk wire-wound snares.
