1930s Leedy Black Elite 'Thunderbird' Broadway Dual Snare Drum

Size : 6.5 x 14

Finish : Black Elite 'Thunderbird Engraving'

Leedy introduced a revolutionary design in the 1930s known as the 'Broadway' model snare drum. This was a heavily engineered strainer system that retained tension on the snare strands when they were both engaged and disengaged. In addition, the Dual model included a second set of snares running along the batter head, allowing for more sensitivity while again the snares remained in tension when thrown to the off position.

This drum features the Black Elite finish with a very rare Thunderbird engraving across the entire heavy brass shell. The extension lever handles are still present on each of the snare strainer assemblies and the drum is outfitted with 8 'self-aligning' box style lugs which were found on Leedy drums from 1928-1938.
