1933 Ludwig Hi Luster Professional Model Snare Drum

The Hi Luster paint finish was  offered by Ludwig in 1933 and due to its fragile nature, it was then discontinued later this same year. The option of full dressing or skeleton dressing (as shown here) was an additional cost to outfit these drums. Available in blue and green, this blue Hi Luster finish was coated with seven layers of lacquer to help preserve the original checking finish.
