Available for grabs is a beautiful 1940s Leedy Broadway Standard Model snare drum in the 6.5x14 size. This drum is in outstanding condition, including all original hardware, tension rods, Leedy chopper double flanged hoops, beaver tail lugs, and the sought after Standard model strainer. This era of Broadway brass drums featured a thinner brass shell than the earlier 30s shells - however this drum is still hefty! Considering this is drum was likely late 40s, early 50s, there is a mix of hoop profiles. The batter side in a similar double flanged hoop that is seen on the 50s Broadway models, while the resonant side is similar to those Broadways in the 40s. Both match the condition of the later thin brass shells, leading to believe these could be original to the drum. The drum has been fitted with new heads and snare strand. Ready for a display case or stand!
