CONN ended the production of Leedy & Ludwg drums in 1955. This drum marks one of the last few made and is an outstanding example of the quality of construction that these instruments entailed. The drum is extra unique in that is it a Broadway model drum with a factory installed pioneer strainer. At this time, the Broadway model snares included the 'Broadway Extension Snare Strainer', or later known as the 3 point strainer while the more affordable model snares such as the Reliance and Utility, featured the 'pioneer' strainer. This drum may have been a result of the upcoming end of the company production and an effort to use all of the parts that were on hand. Otherwise, this could have been a special order. The drum has all original nickel plated hardware that is in phenomenal condition. The Sparkling Gold wrap is a glass based wrap that pops unlike any of the following sparkle wraps.
