1929-35 Ludwig 'Super Sensitive' Model Snare Drum

An early 1930s Ludwig 'Super Sensitive' nickel over brass snare drum in very nice condition. As pulled from the 1930s catalog, "Two Sets of Snares - an inner set for sensitive response and easier playing. Outer set of snares against the snare head. Individual Snare Control. Responds to a touch of sticks. Two sets of snares that operate independently or together."

All of the hardware on this drum is original including the snare tension rods, brass clips and snare strands on both the resonant and batter sides. The drum features an early heavy brass shell that has a few dings and scratches around the shell however is in above average condition considering the age of the drum. There are some number scribed into the shell at the panel left of the strainer butt end, please see photos. These Super Sensitive models with the batter side snare assembly are difficult to come across, especially those containing all of the batter snare parts.
