1930s Slingerland Tone Flange Sea Green Pearl Snare : 5 x 14
1930s Slingerland Tone Flange Model Snare Drum
Size : 5 x 14
Finish : Sea Green Pearl
These Tone Flange model snare drums were offered between 1928 and 1933. They featured a batter side bearing edge that has height adjustable screws installed in the edge. A banjo style brass ring sits on top of these screws and on top of this, a tone flange (resembles a car hub cap) seats over the entire edge, creating a large brass bearing edge. The head and hoops are then placed on top of this flange. The entire assembly was designed to eliminate hi pitched over tones which were typically fought with the installation of internal mufflers. As stated in the 1928 catalog, “It rejuvenates and clarifies the tone and staccato notes “pop” out like the crack of a machine gun.”
This particular drum is equipped with the original rare, Sea Green Pearl wrap, accompanied by beautiful art gold hardware. All of the hardware is original, including the silk wound snares and era correct calf slunk heads!
