1940s Slingerland WWII Rolling Bomber Snare Drum

Size : 7 x 14

Finish : White Marine Pearl

During WWII, metal rationing took the forefront in product design. Slingerland, like many drum companies at this time took a unique approach to reinventing the design of drums. Utilizing original rose wood, Slingerland created the "Rolling Bomber" drums that featured an off-set lug pattern on the snare drums. These lugs, in addition to the hoops, butt plate and strainer were all crafted out of rose wood. Not many of these stood the test of time as the wood easily split under heavy tension. This particular example is in great condition sporting all original hardware and a gorgeous original White Marine Pearl wrap that has minimal aging. The drum remains in the original condition, uncleaned / unrestored. It even has the original "Radio King" calf heads!
